Someone will love you better

melodic pop ballad

Johnny Orlando

Global pop artist Johnny Orlando returns with his first new music of 2022, a melodic pop ballad entitled “someone will love you better.” Released via Universal Music Canada/Republic Records, is available now at all digital retailers.

Beneath its surface, “someone will love you better” signals a dive into a deeper era of artistry for Johnny Orlando. His evolution shines through on the new single, setting the stage for the arrival of Orlando’s highly anticipated debut album. The accompanying visuals for “someone will love you better,” directed by longtime collaborator Iris Kim (renforshort, LOLO, Anna Sofia), is out now. Upon release, the visuals for “someone will love you better” made its broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU and on the Paramount Times Square billboards.

Speaking about the song, Orlando said “‘someone will love you better’ is the story of one of my friends who fell out of love with his partner. When he told me about it, I thought it was really interesting that you could care so deeply about somebody but still lose feelings for them over time. The lyrics reflect the realization of the falling out, the moment he broke the news and his hope that even though it wouldn’t be him, somebody else would love her the way he once did.”

Johnny Orlando kicked off his North American headline tour last night in Washington, DC. The tour continues tonight at Gramercy Theatre in New York, followed by stops in Boston, Montréal, Chicago and Detroit. See below for full tour dates.

Lyrics someone will love you better by Johnny Orlando

[Intro]
Oooooooh
Oooooooh

[Verse 1]
The greatest romance
Lighting strike to my heart
We would slow dance
In my headlights in the parking lot
There was no chance of ever falling apart
But you’ve noticed that I’m here but I’m so far

[Pre]
Cause I’ve been running from the sun
And I got nowhere left to hide

[Chorus]
Every night I close my eyes
And wish I was still in love
Trying to fight the war with my mind
It’s gonna kill me to give you up
Darling this is gonna hurt
No I won’t regret it
Cause I loved you first
But someone will love you better

[Verse 2]
Last time I’ll hold you
Just cause you need It
Hard to console you when I can’t give you reasons
Hate that love can be a thing you lose
Theres nothing you or I could do
We were fools to fall and it’s nobody’s fault no

[Pre]
Cause I’ve been running from the sun
And I got nowhere left to hide (hide)

[Chorus]
Every night I close my eyes
And wish I was still in love
Trying to fight the war with my mind
It’s gonna kill me to give you up
Darling this is gonna hurt
No I won’t regret it
Cause I loved you first
But someone will love you better

[Post]
Oooooooh ooooooooh
Cause I loved you first
But someone will love you better
Oooooooh ooooooooh
Cause I loved you first
But someone will love you better

Darling this is gonna hurt
I won’t regret it
Cause I loved you first
But someone will love you better
